『2013 Toy Drive 聖誕節玩具招募』

12.24夜，平安夜，寒冷又黑暗的夜。
因為想讓聖誕老人快些過來，孩子們興奮又期待的入睡了。
「明早聖誕樹下會堆著什麼禮物呢？」
「我有想要很久的娃娃。」
「溜冰鞋就拜託了。」
...
或許聖誕老人最開心的時候就是看到孩子們收到禮物笑著拆開的時候。
當然，如果Santa Claus真的存在的話。
但是，並不是所有孩子都擁有能收到禮物的幸運。
你願意做他們的聖誕老人嗎？

2013 Toy Drive 玩具招募，讓我們盡所能，給孩子們一個最溫暖的聖誕節。
「加拿大中文電台」與「萬錦市消防局」合作徵集玩具，在聖誕節期間，玩具會由「救世軍」轉送給有需要的孩子；或送去「Stouffville醫院兒童中心」，給那裡被病魔纏身的孩子們一點希望和安慰。
捐贈方法：
即日起至12月20號，請將全新無包裝的玩具送至加拿大中文電台，我們將把您的愛心轉送給孩子們。
How to Donate:
Until Dec.20th, please bring new unwrapped toys to Fairchild Radio Toronto. Please drop off early so we can deliver the gifts before christmas.

＝有關萬錦市Toy Drive＝
1986年起，萬錦市消防局每年都會舉行玩具大徵集來幫助社區。合作的組織是救世軍和萬錦市Stouffville醫院兒童中心。
Since 1986, the Markham Fire and Emergency Services and the members of IAFF Local 2727 have been proudly supporting the community through our annual toy drive. We support both the Salvation Army and the Children’s Centre at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
救世軍：
去年萬錦市消防局幫救世軍募集到的玩具和食物幫助了萬錦地區231戶人家，超過403位小童。總計超過5000件玩具，帽子，手套和襪子。
The Salvation Army:
Last year the toys and food that were brought to The Salvation Army assisted over 231 families and over 403 children in the Markham area. This adds up to approx. 5,000 toys, hats, mitts and stocking stuffers.
Stouffville醫院兒童中心：
對於孩子們來說，來醫院醫治無疑是害怕又痛苦的經歷。但如果有玩具的陪伴，他們的治療生活將會大不一樣。玩具不僅僅可以幫接受治療的孩子分散疼痛的注意力，還會將整個醫院的氛圍變得更輕鬆舒適。感謝大家的慷慨，使得兒童中心將在接下來的12個月收到1000多件玩具。
The Children’s Centre at Markham Stouffville Hospital:
Coming to the hospital can be an extremely stressful and frightening time for children and their families and it makes a huge difference to be able to provide children with toys and activities during their hospital stay. Not only do these items serve as a wonderful distraction to help take children’s minds off being in the hospital, they also help to normalize the hospital environment so they are able to feel more comfortable and relaxed. The hospital environment can be tough on toys as they need to be cleaned after every use. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Children’s Centre will receive over 1000 toys over the next 12 months.
